Obituary for Pastor Thomas W. Watson
On May 28, 2021, our hearts were saddened by the sudden passing of our
beloved Reverend Thomas Woodrow Watson. He was the third child born
to Robert Lee and Willie Louise Watson on September 17, 1953, in
Drakes Branch, Va. He received his education in Nottoway County
School System. He studied Religious Studies at Virginia Union
University.
Thomas has been preaching all of his life but was licensed to preach on
September 20, 1998 and ordained as a Baptist minister on May 31, 2015.
He became Pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on October 20, 2019.
He was employed at Haley’s of Farmville and upon retirement, he worked
for Laundry Land in Crewe until his death.
On February 17, 1973, he married the love of his life, Sandra Muse, and to
this union three children were born.
He genuinely enjoyed being a husband, father, grandfather, and great
grandfather. He never missed the opportunity to talk about the goodness
of Jesus and all his many blessings. He spent several hours per week at the
YMCA in Farmville, working out and talking about Jesus. He also
enjoyed lawn care and detailing vehicles in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willie Watson, and
two brothers, James and Russell Watson.
Thomas leaves to honor his legacy: his wife, Sandra, daughter, SaBrina,
sons, Thomas Lamont and Timothy, grandchildren, Kwamaine, Shaniqua,
Jamal, T’Shara, Niyyah, Tomia, Makiyah, Terrell, Layla, Traejhon,
Mariah, Emery, Niara, great grandchildren, Kailey, Kaiden, and Khloe’, 2
brothers, William and Roy, 2 sisters, Rosa and Mary, 7 sisters-in-law, 5
brothers-in-law, 10 aunts, 3 uncles, 2 devoted friends, Richard Fowlkes
and Larry Lee, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Public viewing Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 12 to 7 PM. Funeral Service Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3171 Namozine Rd., Crewe, VA 23930. Interment Jackson Cemetery, Crewe.
