Orlandus Lamont Evans of Blackstone, Virginia departed this life on June 4, 2012 at his residence. Son of the late Morris and Lillie Mae Evans, he was born in Blackstone, Virginia.
He was educated in the public schools of Nottoway County. He worked as a fork lift operator for ten years at Taylor Ramsey of Blackstone, Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Evans; three sisters, Dorothy (Eugene) Redmon of Richmond, Virginia, Barbara (Alvon) Knight of Blackstone, Virginia and Shelia (Herman) Stewart of Crewe, Virginia; one stepson, Tracey (Donetta) Merithe; his mother-in-law, Mabel; three grandchildren; a devoted friend, Andrew Epps; devoted caregiver, Sarah Stewart; two dedicated nurses, Wanda Mayton and Crystal Epps; a host of uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with private burial.
