Obituary for Nannie C. Doswell
Nannie C. Doswell was born on June 1, 1932 in Lunenburg County, VA. She was the 8th child born to the union of the late John H. and Marion Hunt Carrington.
Nannie and family moved to Nottoway County where at the approximate age of six years old she confirmed her faith and belief in the Lord and Savior, joining the Prospect Baptist Church. Later she joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.
Nannie received her formal education in Nottoway County. After graduation she moved to Baltimore, MD were she took a Business Course at Carver High School.
Nannie began her work era while in Baltimore as a secretary of the school system and retired after many years.
Nannie joined Concord Baptist Church. There she served as Youth Department Advisor, Church Secretary, B.T.U. Ministry and Trustee. Moving back to Virginia, Nannie rejoined Mt. Nebo where she served as a Fall Rally Committee member, Trustee, Chairperson for Mt. Nebo road pavement, Sunday School, Women’s Ministry, Choir Member. As we can see Nannie was a faithful busy lady for the Lord. May the work she did speak for her.
Nannie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Clarence C. Doswell, better known as “Mike” on March 15, 1992. She often said they shared a happy marriage.
Nannie leaves to mourn: her sister, Alice Hawks, her brother, Conrad Carrington (his wife Dora), the Doswell family, her special “girls”, Quandra Horton, Cynthia Knight, Bernadette Johnson and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:00PM at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment Doswell Family Cemetery, Blackstone.
