Obituary for Nannie B. Ross
As we celebrate the life of our loved one, Nannie Booker Ross, who departed this life on Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA, we know that God in His infinite wisdom choose the best.  Daughter of the late Braxton  C. Booker, Sr. and Pearl Campbell Booker, she was born December 30, 1955.  “Cookie”, affectionately known by family and friends, was well loved by all who knew her.
She was educated in the public schools of Amelia.  After graduating from Amelia County High in 1974, she joined the work force at Medical College of Virginia Hospital where she worked for approximately twenty years.  During her stay at MCV she decided to pursue her dream of serving her country by joining the U.S. Army Reserve, where she served for twenty years.
During her work at MCV she met and married the love of her life, Lemuel Carl Ross, Sr., he preceded her in death.  This union was blessed with three children, LaTonya, Lemuel, Jr. and Corey.
She joined the Manassa Hill Baptist Church at an early age.  There she served on the Usher Board and Youth Church under the pastorship of Pastor Turner.  Her hymns were “This Too Shall Pass” and “Angels Watching Over Me”
She leaves to cherish fond memories to: her loving and devoted children, USAF MSgt LaTonya Moses of San Antonio, TX, Carl (Stephanie) of Richmond, VA and Corey of Amelia, VA; two grandchildren, Mykia Moses and Ameer Ross; mother, Mrs. Pearl Booker; four brothers, Braxton, Jr. (Liz) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Arthur (Barbara) of Blackstone, VA, Richard (Maria) of Richmond, VA and Leonard (Koaru) of Tokoyo, Japan; nine nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; two uncles William and Richard Campbell; six sisters-in-law; a host of  cousins, other relatives and friends.
