Obituary for Moses N. Wilson
We know that when death comes to one who has endured an illness, as it has now, our grief is softened by a sense of assurance that our loved one is resting with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Diaconate-Elect Moses Wilson, Jr., peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Chippenham Hospital.  He was born May 6, 1947 to the late Moses M. Wilson, Sr. and Martha Booker Wilson.  He was the youngest of five children.  He was preceded in death by Clarence Glenn, Alphine Vaughan and Dorothy Jordan.  He was affectionately called “Boogie” by his family and friends.
Moses was raised and educated in the Chesapeake Public School System.  He joined the Mount Level Baptist Church and faithfully served until his declining health.  He was a faithful, loyal and dedicated member of the Male Chorus, the Brotherhood Ministry, the Missionary Ministry, and regularly attended Church School.  He served as Rev. Shannon’s Armor Bearer for several years.
Moses was united in Holy Matrimony on September 7, 1984 to the late Lillie S. Wilson.
He served in the United States Marine Corps for two years (Vietnam) and in the Marine Reserve for four years.  He was a dedicated federal government employee, retiring in 2003 with 31 years of service.
Moses leaves to cherish his memories:  daughter, Tracy Cross (Glen) of Suffolk VA; step-son, Kevin Johnson (Cynthia) Bartlett TN; step-daughter, Deborah Davis (Jesse) of North Chesterfield VA; sister, Patricia Wilson of Portsmouth VA; brother-in-law, Richard Coleman; sister-in-law, Clara Blackwell (James), all of Blackstone, VA; two grandchildren, Kiara and Asia; a great grandson, Xavier and a great granddaughter, Zoey and a host of dedicated and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
