Obituary for Michael L. Watts
Michael “Mike” Lemell Watts was born August 17, 1977 to Dorothy R. Watts-Hamilton and Michael L. Adams in Queens, NY. He departed this life on June 23, 2016 in Denver, CO.
Michael attended elementary schools P.S. 134 and 118 in Hollis, Queens. Upon graduation in 1988 Michael and his family moved to Blackstone, VA where he attended Nottoway Middle and High School. On October 31, 1997 Michael united in marriage to Theresa Mavin. He also lived in New Jersey and Florida. Years later Michael moved to Denver, CO where he attained his GED, Janitorial Certificate and Ministry Certificate from the Ministry of God.
Michael was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather. He had a good heart and cared for others. Everyone that knew him loved his sense of humor. He was a jokester, dancer, artist, poet, loved to cook and sing (boy could he sing). Michael had a gift when it came to sports and preaching the word of God. Through Michael’s journey of life he listened, advised and protected anyone he encountered.
Michael is survived by: his wife Teresa Mavin (VA); children, Miracle Watts (NC), Forever Michael Watts (VA), Pharoh Michael Watts (CO), Tanaisha Boatwright (NY), Deandra Watts (NY), Malika (VA), Talia Mavin (VA), Shomonique Lucas (VA), Lamont Mavin (VA), Marcus Mavin (VA); grandchild, Malachi (NC); parents, Dorothy R. Watts-Hamilton (VA) and Keith E. Hamilton (NY); brother, Geno Andrews (NY); sisters, Danielle Hamilton (VA), Jennifer Davidson (VA), Danielle Palmer (FL); godbrothers, Dijohn, Taron, Bobby (NY); godsisters, Tiffany (VA), Jasmine (NY), Aja (NY); aunts, Aunt Angie (VA), Joyia (NY), Darlene (NY), Sharon (NY), Pat Moss (VA), Debra Coleman (FL); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Beverly Young (CO) a loving girlfriend who was with him until the end.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone.
