Obituary for Melvin Lewis Crawley

Melvin Lewis Crawley, was born July 19, 1945 to Martha and Robert Lee Crawley, he departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2015.  He bore his illness patiently and gracefully, never complaining and would often try and make others smile and laugh.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
Melvin was educated in the Nottoway County Public School System.  After working for several different employers, Melvin became a Heavy Equipment Operator Apprentice for Tidewater Road and Paving Company Inc., Richmond, Virginia.  With this company he traveled all over the state putting in highways and paving.  Melvin was a hard-working, fun loving man.  His favorite was working on old cars and fast driving.
Melvin was a devoted family man who loved his daughter and grandchildren.  He often was the baby sitter for his daughter while she was working.  He enjoyed watching television and lending a helping hand in whatever he could.
Melvin, also called Handsome, Mink and Pretty Boy, leaves to cherish his memories:  his wife Barbara, daughter Dana, three grandchildren, and other friends, all of Richmond, Virginia; brother Michael L. Bagley; sister Linda B. Anderson; long time close buddies, Butch Bagley and Irving Cousins; other relatives and friends.
