Obituary for Melvin L. Robinson
MELVIN ROBINSON, SR., son of Verdelle and Jimmie T. Robinson was born on September 20, 1955 in Jetersville, VA. He departed this life on December 9, 2011 at St. Josephs Hospital in Yonkers, NY.
He was educated in the Amelia County Public School System. Melvin was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Before his health began to fail, he was employed at Richmond Children’s Home for ten years. He could plaster, do electrical wiring, landscaping and carpentry. He was a “Jack Of All Trades”, all you had to do was call and he would do whatever needed doing. “Skip” was an avid guitar player.
Melvin was married and divorced from Drucella Adams.
He was predeceased by Jimmie Robinson, Verdelle, Robinson, James T. Robinson, Ronnie C. Robinson and Kevin Lamar Caines, but leaves to cherish his memory: one son Melvin Jr.; four daughters Tanya, Alichia, Nicholle and Nychelle; six grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel and Steven; four sisters, Doris, Carolyn, Patricia and Jacqueline; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Jetersville with interment in the church cemetery.
