Obituary for Mazie A. Wells
MISS MAZIE ADLENE WELLS, daughter of the late Mr. Willie Wells, Sr. and Mrs. Mazie Fitzgerald Wells was born on March 15, 1925 in Nottoway County, VA. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bersenia Bennett and three brothers, Robert Wells, George Wells, Sr., and Willie Wells, Jr.
She was educated in the Nottoway County Training School and graduated June 4, 1943. She worked at Crewe Laundry and Dry Cleaning for many years.
She joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church on August 31, 1940 under Reverend J. Rather. She was a member of the Missionary Ministry and the Women’s Ministry. She was also a member of the VFW.
She leaves to mourn her loss: one sister, Mrs. Alma Tucker of Blackstone, VA; a devoted friend, Mr. William Dailey of Blackstone, VA; two devoted nieces, Patricia Wells and Stacey Wells; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Service Friday, August 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
