Obituary for Maurice J. Anderson
Maurice Jerome Anderson entered eternal rest on October 30, 2013 at his home in Blackstone, Virginia.  He was the third child born to the late Paul and Martha Anderson on September 17, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Christ Presbyterian Church in Burkeville, Virginia.
Maurice received his education in Nottoway County, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland.  He received a certificate in brick masonry from the Crewe Vocational School.  He spent most of his adult career as a truck driver for L&M and Estes Trucking Companies.  He retired from Nottoway County Public School System in 2007.
He met and married Mattie Ingram Anderson on August 26, 1967.  They enjoyed forty-six years of matrimony.  They had one son, Maurice.  He enjoyed watching his son play sports leading to his professional football career.  He loved his family and was always willing to help others.  He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Maurice leaves to cherish his memories:  his wife Mattie; his son Maurice; three grandchildren, Kiara, Maurice and Aavin; his sister Gwendolyn Lewis of Richmond, Virginia; his brothers, Paul Anderson (Marjorie) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Don Anderson of Richmond, Virginia and Arnold Anderson (Amanda) of Crewe, Virginia; three devoted sisters-in-law, Frankie Ingram, Delia Washington and Thelma Ingram all of Blackstone, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Harvey Lee Ingram of Blackstone, Virginia; twelve nieces; ten nephews; two god-daughters, Kimberly Knox Wilson of Chesterfield, Virginia and Ariona Anderson of Blackstone, Virginia; numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Nottoway, VA with interment in the church cemetery.
