Obituary for Matthew Evans Randolph, Jr.
Matthew Evans Randolph Jr. affectionately known as “Randy” was born
to Matthew Randolph Sr. and VerCine (Christian) Terry on August 28,
1957. Randy was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and considered
Jetersville, Virginia as his second home. Randy was raised Baptist and
baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. He transitioned on March 18, 2022 in
his home in Baltimore, MD.

Randy attended and graduated from Baltimore City Public Schools. After
high school, he attended Baltimore City Community College and studied
“Criminal Justice.” He was very hard working and career driven; from
his younger days as a paper route boy to graduating and becoming a
correctional officer. He later on transitioned to truck driving and ended
the remainder of his working years servicing the community at Maryland
Transportation Administration (MTA) from which he retired.

Randy was very in tune with his culture, and had a strong love for
animals and art. He considered himself one of the roughest and toughest
cowboys in town. During his later years after retiring, Randy continued
to be the most loving and fun, but sometimes a hard headed person. He
lived his life how we wanted with no regrets.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Matthew Sr. He leaves to
mourn his passing:

His mother VerCine Terry; two brothers Paul and Timothy Randolph and
adopted sister Sharm Rajpaul; two sisters-in-law Saundra and Cindy
Randolph; nieces and nephew Yasmin, Kristen, Ericka, Morgan, and
Nicholas; great-niece and great-nephews Wayne, Harlie, Wayden and
Hunter; and his God-daughter Kenya Reynolds; along with a loving host
of relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for all acts of
kindness, expression, and sympathy.

Services: Saturday, April 8, 2022 at Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia, Va.

Interment: Randolph Family Cemetery - 7101 Drunkard Road, Jetersville, Va.
