Obituary for Mary W. Wallace
Gently and peacefully our family circle was broken on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:32 a.m.  Beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Mary Floyda quietly received her eternal freedom from this world and was ushered into her heavenly home.
Mary Woodson Wallace, daughter of the late Deacon Wilson and Mary Harris Woodson was born October 2, 1931 in Amelia County, VA.  She was the sixth eldest of thirteen children and was lovingly referred to as “Collie” by her family.
Mary confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Flower Hill Baptist Church where she served with faithfulness and steadfastness until her health began to decline.  She was educated in the Amelia county School System and was in the Russell Grove Class of 1954.
Mary was a very loving and giving person, always thinking of, and blessing others.  She always took the time to be encouraged, and to encourage others.  Family and friends felt her love in many ways, especially through acts of kindness and her love for the art of cooking.
Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to James R. Wilson, Sr. in 1953 (he preceded her in death).  To this union two children were born, James R. Wilson, Jr. who preceded her in death and Margaret A. Owens.
Mary relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she and four other siblings resided until she returned to Amelia, VA in 1974.
Mary’s unwavering and bold faith was exemplified in all aspects of her life.  She lived to serve the Most High God and she knew this world was not her home.  Her goal was getting to Heaven, and each and every day she prepared herself to take flight to her new home.
Mary is preceded in death by her siblings, Amanda, Martha, Tom, Marshall, MaLinda, Margaret, and Floyd, but leaves to cherish her memory:  her loving and devoted daughter Margrett Ann Owens and devoted son-in-law William Owens; three sisters, Helen LaSane of Philadelphia, PA, Ernestine Woodson-Cowans of N. Chesterfield, VA and Estelle Woodson of Amelia, VA; one brother, Charlie Woodson of Richmond, VA; sisters-in-law, Vivian Woodson, Jane Ruffin, Eliza Jones, Estella Green and Evelyn Wilson; brothers-in-law, Ronald Cowans, Edwin Wilson and Harrison Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
