Obituary for Mary 'Mae Mae' Scott
Mary ‘Mae Mae’ Scott departed this life on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at MCV Hospital. Daughter of the late Gracie Grammer Maddux and James Grammer, she was born May 25, 1940 in Brunswick County. She moved to New York in 1957 and returned to Virginia to reside in September of 1983.
In 1971 she married Artis Taft Scott, he preceded her in death.
Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Lee Grammer, Elizabeth Grammer and Lucy Pegram. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Anthony Taft Scott (Jennifer Waughtel) of Chambersburg, PA; two sisters, Christine (Bo) Ghee of Blackstone, VA and Grace Tabon of Long Island, NY; one brother James (Betty) Maddux of Virginia Beach, VA; her one and only aunt, Lottie Mae Morgan; four grandchildren, DayQuan (Buck) Scott, Artissa Shaffer, Damien Teal and Desmond Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone. Interment Shiloh (Dinwiddie) Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
