Obituary for Mary Lou Green
On Tuesday evening June 1, 2018 at Johnston Willis Hospital, God sent his angel to welcome Mary Lou Green home.
Mary Lou was born on March 19, 1933 to George and Sarah Epes Greene.
She confessed Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined Mt. Zion RZUA Church in Blackstone. She sang in the choir and served on the Missionary Board until her health declined. She was educated and graduated from the Nottoway County system.
Mary worked for Levi Strauss, Heritage Hall and Armbruster Restaurant until her retirement.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents; a son Theo T. Greene; brothers Willie and Robert Green; and a sister Dollie E. Foster.
She leaves to treasure her fond memories: a devoted-loving daughter, Joyce Green; granddaughter, Tanika Green-Jones (Wallace); great granddaughters, Mi’Asia and Cherish; daughter-in-law, Tammy Greene; nephew who she called her son, James Foster; godson, Carlton Foster; grand-dog Armani; devoted cousins and friends, Audrey & Ben Matthews, Frankie Ingram, Louise Johnson, Ellen Lansdown and Edith Hughes.
Funeral Service Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a,m. at Mt. Zion RZUA Church, Blackstone. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
