Obituary for Mary B. Foster
Mary Belle Harris foster was born on December 20, 1918 in Amelia County to the late Agnes and Willie Harris.
Mary attended Russell Grove and was a faithful supporter of her school heritage.  She received Christ at an early age and was baptized and joined Promise Land Baptist Church.  She served God faithfully and worked in many departments in the church.
Mary loved people and always made them feel welcome in her home.  She loved to travel and never met a stranger along the way.  She showed herself friendly and always made a new friend.
Mary Belle chronicled her life in Amelia as a young girl and it was recorded for record by the James Hamman Historical Library.  She also helped many others with their family heritage.
Mary later joined Universal Cathedral Ministries where she served as Sr. Church Mother and President Emeritus of the Missionary Ministry.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories:  two adopted daughters, Alice Owens and Barbara Wade-Goodman; one adopted grandson, Frank Wade; one adopted granddaughter, Mary Wade; two brothers, Haywood Ward (Brenda) and William Jenkins; one sister, Merrio Belton (Martin); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a childhood friend Deacon Hanibee Robinson.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, November 18, 2012 from Zion Hill Presbyterian Church, Amelia with interment in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Amelia.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of arrangements.
