Obituary for Mary A. Blackwell
Mrs. Mary Anna Blackwell departed this life peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home in Blackstone, VA. Daughter of the late Lucille Reavis, she was born February 21, 1936.
At an early age, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Blackstone.
Mary worked at Fort Pickett for more than fifteen years in housekeeping.
Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Blackwell and Larry Lee. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Kirk Blackwell and Robert Lee (Brenda); one brother, Lorenzo Jones (Linda); two sisters, Ann Clover and Virginia Thomas; seven grandkids, Denise Jackson (Michael), Alonzo Hardy (Tiffany), Travis Hester, Unity Hester, Keyanna Blackwell, Quenton Blackwell and Kelvin Neal (Tina); six great grandkids, Jerome Jackson, Olivia Jackson, Malik Hardy, Alexis Hardy, Carina Brown and Kelvin Neal Jr.; devoted friends and family that she loved so much: Elizabeth Dagner, Selma Jackson, Lynette Williams, Aretha Morgan, Myra Thomas, Theresa Day and Alice Bell; a host of aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
