MARTHA LAVERNE WYNN departed this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Laurel Regional Hospital in Laurel, MD. Martha Laverne, daughter of the late Fannie Beatrice and Lewis Powell Jones was born October 13, 1943.
She was educated in the Dinwiddie and Nottoway County public school systems. At an early age she joined Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone, VA.
Martha, affectionately known as “Laverne” by family and friends, was a loving, kind-hearted, quiet and soft-spoken person. Although soft-spoken, she enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends, sharing light conversations.
Martha leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, William Wynn of Amelia, VA; one son, Richard Lee (Annie) Jones of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Francine (Ricky) Watson of Nottoway, VA; one brother, Lewis (Sarah) Jones of Riverdale, MD; one sister, Frances Jones of Washington, DC; one uncle, Ernest Hawkes of Baltimore, MD; one aunt, Annie Claiborne of Dinwiddie, VA; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Jerusalem Baptist Church, Blackstone with intement in the church cemetery.
