Obituary for Madeline C. Mills
Madeline Caroline Mills, 95, departed this life peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Chippenham Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1927. Madeline was preceded in death by her mother Fannie Mason, husband Robert L. Mills Sr, son Richard M. Mills, and daughter Martha Mills Gillis. Madeline leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Sylvia Mills, two sons Robert (Skeet) Mills Jr., and James (Bo) Mason (Sarah). “Nannie'' as she was affectionately called by her family, was a loving grandmother to Robert Mills III (Deidre), Latoya M. Royal (Don), Tyrell Gillis (Aleeiah), Jernell (JT) Mills (Danielle), Talisha G. King (David) and an active great grandmother to eleven great grandchildren, Daveyon, Tyrell, Kiera, Tylea, Delontay, DeShawn, Kennedy, Kaleb, Kyra, Jayden, and Kinsley. She was an avid animal lover and leaves behind three grand pets Cooper, Lucky, and Jax.
Madeline always had a cheerful attitude, bright smile and loved to have a good laugh. Madeline actively attended Centra Pace in Farmville where she loved to play bingo, listen to music, and socialize with friends and staff. She loved anything related to nature such as animals and plants. In her free time, she enjoyed sitting on the front porch, gardening, reading, watching nature documentaries and spending time with her many great grandchildren. Madeline was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
