Obituary for Lucy F. Stith
Lucy F. Stith, daughter of the late Bruce and Berta F. Fowlkes of Crewe was born April 30, 1921 in Nottoway County. She was educated in the Nottoway County Public School System. As a child, Lucy attended church with her family, and at an early age she was converted, baptized and joined First Nottoway Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a deaconess for many years.
Lucy was joined in holy matrimony to James M. Stith of Crewe, VA and from this union she had one son, Roscoe L. Stith, Sr. She was a dedicated wife, mother and employee of the Uniroyal Company in Farmville, VA until her retirement, due to disability.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity and kindness, along with her ex-husband, James. M. Stith; her beloved son, Roscoe L. Stith, Sr. (Margaret); three grandchildren, Roxanne E. Stith, Deacon Roscoe L. Stith, Jr. (Delois) and Monica E. Stith; two great grandchildren, Edwyn McGhaney, Jr. and Charles W. Wells. Lucy also adored her nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral Services Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Jackson Cemetery, Crewe.
