Obituary for Lucille T. Johnson
Mrs. Lucille Thompson Johnson, departed this life on Tuesday, December, 23, 2014 at the Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill, VA.
Lucille was born December 9, 1916. She was one of five children born to the late John and Lucy Thompson. She attended school in Green Bay, VA. At an early age Lucille accepted Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized, joined Morning Star Baptist Church where she became an active and faithful member until she moved her membership to Mt. Zion Baptist Church..
Lucille met and married the love of her life Alphonse Johnson. From that union three children Leon, Mary, and Joyce were born. Joyce preceded her in death.
Lucille was affectionately known as “Lou”, “Cille”, “Big-Mama”, and “Shorty”. She will always be remembered for her fashion of suits, hats, and shoes. She loved to talk and was very humorous. She will be deeply missed by family, relatives, and friends.
Lucille is survived by: her son Leon (Virginia) Johnson of Crewe, VA; daughter Mary Johnson of Marlyand: Seven grandchildren, Patricia (Edward), James, Daronta (Lisa), Darran, Sandra, Karen, and Adriana; sixteen great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Alice, Patty, and Minnie Mae whom she loved as her own daughters and one devoted friend Thelma Walker.
Funeral Services Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Crewe.
