LUCILLE FOWLKES, daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Fowlkes was born February 1, 1915.
Lucille attended school in Nottoway County. She worked at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital for thirty years. She was a faithful member of First Nottoway Baptist Church until her illness.
Lucille departed this life at home on October 14, 2010, at the age of ninety-five after a long illness. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Lucille is survived by her son, John Fowlkes of Crewe, VA; one sister, Enora Fuller of Norfolk, VA; two grandchildren, Rachel Rhoades of Richmond, VA and William Coleman of Crewe, VA; two great grandchidlren, Reginald and James Rhoades of Richmond, VA; five great-great grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews, and a devoted friend, Viola Towler.
Funeral Services Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the church cemetery.
