Obituary for Louise E. Bush
God in his infinite wisdom, called home to eternal rest his beloved daughter, Louise E. Bush on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Blackstone, VA at the age of 98. Daughter of the late Willie B. Epes, Sr., and Mary Hill Epes, Louise was born November 19, 1915 in Nottoway County, VA.
Louise received her education in the public schools of Nottoway County. She confessed her faith and joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at an early age. She was dedicated and faithful in her service to the Lord. Mt. Nebo Baptist Church bestowed the Honorary title of “Mother of the Church” to Mrs. Louise Bush. The beautiful plaque reads: in recognition of your blessed longevity and your years of faithful service. With Love, The Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Family, Reverend Dr. Joseph B. Fields, Jr., Pastor on January 5, 2014.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the Russell Bush. This union was blessed with three children, Louise, Russell and Bernard.
Louise was an excellent homemaker and shared her homemaking skills through employment as a domestic worker for families in Blackstone, VA.
For many years, Louise lived in New York, Florida and Georgia sharing her life with family and in later years returned back to Blackstone, VA to live. She was an exceptional cook and loved to share pies and other delicious foods with family and friends. When family and friends visited in her home, she would entertain them with exciting stories of her life’s journey and varied experiences. Her life, 98 years, touched the lives of many - young and old. She was quick to impart guidance and loving words of encouragement to all. Words of wisdom spoken with knowledge, understand and inspiration.
Louise is predeceased by her husband, Russell Bush; daughter, Louise Lacy; son, Bernard Bush; grandson, Russell Lacy; brothers, Freddie T. Epes and Willie B. Epes; sisters, Mary H. Shelton and Martha Waugh.
