Obituary for Lorenzo G. Branch
Lorenzo Gustervae Branch entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Mandrin Hospice Home in Annapolis, Maryland. He was born on May 24, 1958 to Meril and Annie Hawkes Branch in Blackstone, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father Meril Branch, Sr. and brother Michael Todd Branch.
Lorenzo moved to Washington D.C., at a young age and was educated in the D.C. Public Schools. After graduating from Frank W. Ballou High School, Lorenzo joined the United States Army National Guard - Transportation Division, where he met and later married his wife of 31 years, Era Jolly Branch; from this union, they have four children.
Lorenzo, affectionately known as the "Master Chef", enjoyed various activities during his life, to include spending time with family and friends, motorcycling, basketball, softball, bowling, playing cards, thrift store shopping, fishing, competing in Metro Bus Rodeo events, cooking, grilling, watching the history channel and the Washington Redskins.
Lorenzo leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Era Branch of Laurel, MD; his mother Annie M. Branch of Fort Washington, MD; two sons, Damien Branch (Tanya) of Midway, GA and Nathan Branch (Natasha) of South Augusta, GA;Â two daughters, Teri Pearson (Jammarl) of Hinesville, GA and Sherree Branch (Christopher), who is currently serving in the United States Air Force in Okinawa, Japan; two brothers, Meril Branch Jr. (Bernadette) and Mark Rodney Branch (Kwailan) of Fort Washington, MD; four grandsons, Markese, Jordan, Nathan and Naquan; two granddaughters, Nathina and Skylar; and a host of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6p.m. until 8pm at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 5000 St. Barnabas Rd,. Temple Hills, MD. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Cellar Creek Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
