Obituary for Lillie Sue Wilson
Lillie Sue Wilson was born on August 2, 1945, to the late Willie Wilson and the late Martha Wilson Coleman in Amelia, Virginia. Lillie was blessed with two siblings after the union of her mother to Richard A. Coleman, Sr.
Having been reared by her family to faithfully stand on the word of God, Lillie joined Mt. Level Baptist Church at an early age. As an adult, her spiritual growth lead her to love and truly understand John 3:16, which was one of her favorite scriptures. She was an active member of the Ushers Ministry and served as president for many years. She also served as a faithful member of the Trustee Ministry, the Hospitality Ministry, and attended Church School regularly.
Lillie received her education in the Nottoway County Public School system and was a 1964 graduate of Luther H. Foster High School. She was a former employee of Levi Strauss for more than fifteen years. She had a love for cooking and often shared her delicacies with family and friends. Her passion for cooking lead her into her second career, cheerfully serving the children of Nottoway County, where she retired after sixteen dedicated years of service.
She enjoyed spending quality time conversing with family and friends daily. Lillie was blessed with a memory far beyond her years and had the opportunity to share many fond family memories with her children and grandchildren that will be cherished forever.
On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, Lillie Sue Wilson, surrounded by her family, peacefully slipped into eternal rest to awake no more with us, but to awake in the presence and glory of the Lord. Lillie leaves to cherish many precious memories her husband, Moses N. Wilson, Jr.; her son, Kevin Johnson and daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Cindy) of Memphis, TN; a daughter, Deborah J. Davis and son-in-law, Jesse I. Davis, Jr. of Richmond, VA; a brother, Richard A. Coleman, Jr. (Laura); a sister, Clara R. Blackwell (James), all of Blackstone, VA; two grandchildren, Kiara S. and Asia D. Johnson; a great grandson, Xavier A. Johnson all of Memphis, TN; aunts, Effie Crayton of Amelia, VA and Virginia Jones of Hopewell, VA; uncles, Marvin Edmonds (Helen) of Killeen, TX and Wilson Edmonds of Hopewell, VA; sister-in-law, Patricia Wilson of Portsmouth, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Let us not mourn, for we can rejoice in the loving memories that God has blessed us with through our beloved Lillie.
