Obituary for Leon E. Tucker
Leon Edward “Bubba” Tucker, son of the Late Leon (Booza) Tucker and Lula Bland Tucker was born July 19, 1935.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lucy Elaine Tucker and Virgie “Plunk” Claiborne; one brother, Melvin Preston Tucker, Sr.; and a devoted wife Mattie Hicks Tucker.
He was employed by the town of Blackstone until his health failed him. Leon was educated in the Nottoway County school system. He joined Cellar Creek Baptist Church at an early age. In later years he married Carrie Tee and to that union three children were born.
Leon entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Joyce Tucker Lewis (Barbee), Kathleen Tucker Neal (James) and Alonzo Tucker, all of Blackstone, VA; six grandchildren, Carl Anderson, Tesha Anderson, Rhonda Lewis, April Tucker, Christopher Tucker and Jamesha Tucker; a very devoted sister-in-law, Barbara Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
