Obituary for Lenzsy Sr. Lassiter
Lenzsy Lassiter, Sr., 92 passed away peacefully Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center. Son of the late William and Sue Lassiter, he was born April 15, 1923 in Louisburg, NC.
Lenzsy joined the United States Army where he served his country during World War II as an Infantry Soldier. After his military career, he worked at Fort Lee as a machine operator until his retirement in 1981.
Lenzsy was predeceased by his wife Corean B. Lassiter; daughter Irene Lassiter; son-in-law George Fulgham.
He leaves to cherish his memories:Â five children, Barbara Lassiter Bloomfield (James), Bettie L. Fulgham, Len Lassiter Jr. (Cathy), Esther Lassiter Robinson (David) and Herbert Wilson (Barbara); one sister, Rebecca Mason (Tudda); one brother-in-law, Howard Bonner; seven grandchildren, Chantelle, Jordan (Victor), Montrilia Fulgham, Matrice Lassiter, Lee Ortiz (Ruben), Priscilla Lassiter, Lisa Lassiter (AJ) and Eljay Robinson; ten great grandchildren; devoted friend, Margie Akers and the Akers family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment to follow in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
