Lennell was the 3rd child born to the late Jimmy Leonard and Ruby Rosser Owens in Meriwether County, Georgia.  She departed this life at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia at 10:38 a.m. on September 11, 2010.
Early in life, she joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church but later united with the Mount Nebo Missionary Church in Crewe, Virginia.  For many years, she faithfully served in her church as well as an active member for the Missionary Society.
In 1953, she moved away tot Connecticut.  There she met and married the late Marquest Scott in 1958.  As years passed, they traveled to Crewe, Virginia and made it their home.
Lennell loved outdoors; her yard and beautiful flowers are true reflections of  her passion ofr gardening.  She truly believed that God was the author and finisher of her faith.  In general conversation, you would often hear her quote "And I Thank You" and "I Understand."  Her final words on this side were "I KNOW JESUS."
