He was educated in Nottoway County Schools. At an early age, he joined Union Baptist Church and served as an usher.
Lee was a hard working man, he worked various jobs in the county until he relocated to Norfolk to find gainful employment. After forty-five plus years, he retired and moved back home. While in Norfolk, he started a small landscaping business, which he continued until his health began to decline.
He was an avid fisherman. His golden years were spent helping others, fishing, riding and laughing with his family and friends.
Lee married Lillie Foster in June, 1949.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Nannie Jennings; his wife Lillie; a daughter, Phyllis; two grandchildren; nine brothers, Horace, Linwood, Albert, Sampson, Kirkwood, James, George, Linnie and Charlie; three sisters, Rachel, Maggie and Alma.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Shirley; sons, Larry (Diane), Ronald (Gwenie) and Arnold (Brenda); ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lee was a quiet, humble man, never complaining, who will be greatly missed.
