Obituary for Lawrence L. Baker
Lawrence went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2010 at the Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Lawrence received Christ at an early age and worked faithfully in his church until his health began to fail. He was educated in the Richmond public school system. He attended Norfolk State University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Lawrence loved his family deeply, and often stated that the family needed to stay together. He was a fun loving and outgoing person and was always concerned about the welfare of others.
Lawrence was employed by the Bank of America, Villa Park as a manager, then transferred to a Bank of America branch in Atlanta, GA until his health forced him to retire.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Hyde, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Walter Baker.
He is survived by his father, Lawrence Baker, Sr.; his mother, Carolyn Carroll (Henry); four brothers, Carl of Richmond, VA, Wesley of Richmond, VA, Daryle Walker of Richmond, VA and Scott Carroll; one sister, Monica Baker of Amelia, VA; one Goddaughter, Ocean-Miracle Morris; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins (one devoted, Stanley Epps); and two devoted friends, Denise Hill and Debbie Powers.
Funeral Services Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
