Laverne Ayeta Montgomery was born on February 19th 1959, in Prince Edward County (Farmville VA) to (mother) Thelma Louise Montgomery Williams and (father) Leroy Coleman (Bubba Lean.)
Laverne gave her life to God at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Burkeville VA where she was a member for many years.
Laverne was a faithful and dedicated hard worker. She started working at Hillside in Burkeville VA as a cook for 3 years. She then worked at Amelia Nursing Home for six years. Later she started a new chapter working at Sitter and Barfoot Veteran Hospital for 14 years.
Laverne was such a loving beautiful soul and a force to be reckon with. She loved to cook, dance and listen to music. She lived up to her nickname Foxx, because she was a beautiful, outgoing lady. She was known to be a giver and she always looked out for others. She loved spending quality time with family and definitely believed that family comes first. Laverne touched many lives while she was here, from family, friends, and co-workers to a host of cousins and devoted friend Violet.
Laverne Montgomery was preceded in death by grandchildren, Shaquille Parrish, Jordan and Jamal Parrish, Demontae Montgomery; great grandchild, Emoni Reed; and siblings, Randy Coleman, Debroah Montgomery, Linda Sue Montgomery, Norma Williams, Wesley Montgomery, Joseph Montgomery (Joe Boy) and Milton Montgomery.
Laverne is survived by her four children: Tonya Jackson (Larry), Matarsha Parrish (devoted son-in-law Leroy), Sh’Vontae Montgomery and William Montgomery; sixteen grandchildren, Aysia Price, KeyShana Jackson, Bre’Asha Jackson, Larry Jackson (Lj) Tamia Jackson, ShyAnn Montgomery, Ziondrae Austin, Zi’Rihanna Austin, Zy’Riel Montgomery, Zha’Marion Montgomery, Zha’Mariah Montgomery, Zy’Ere Montgomery; ten great grandchildren; eighteen siblings, Cora Daniels, Betty Coleman, Josephine Hill (Larry Hill), Lionel Montgomery a.k.a (Peanut), Burnette Montgomery a.k.a (Junie), James Montgomery, Russell Coleman, Melvin Coleman, Carl Coleman, Lelise Jones, Carnell Coleman; other relatives and friends.
