Obituary for Laura Mae Johnson
Peace and rest was given to our loved one, Laura Mae Johnson, also known as “Auntie Bobbie”, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her home located at Magnolia Place in Blackstone, VA. She was born in Dinwiddie County on February 7, 1946 to Jessie Lee and Robert Lee Dagner.
Laura attended Luther H. foster High School. She professed her faith in Christ and joined the Cellar Creek Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Judge Brown.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson; her parents, Jessie Lee and Robert Lee Dagner; two sisters, Jackie and Caroline Dagner; and a brother, William Dagner.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Edward Dagner of St. Louis, MO; one grandson, David Lee Brown of Richmond, VA; two great grandchildren, Kalia and Coby Batton of Richmond, VA; one sister, Maggie Dagner of Blackstone, VA; two brothers, Robert Dagner, Jr. of Blackstone and Franklin Dagner of St. Louis, MO; one uncle, Gussie Lee Dagner of Blackstone, VA; one devoted nephew, Kendrick Dagner of Blackstone, VA; a devoted friend, Deaconess Virgie C. Yates of Blackstone, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Cellar Creek Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
