Obituary for Laura Ann Robertson
Laura Ann Robertson, a native of Crewe, Virginia was born January 25, 1946 to the union of the late Clarence and Hortense Robertson. She departed this life on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Wellsprings at Amelia Nursing & Rehab.
Laura was baptized and joined Union Baptist Church at an early age. She attended school at Watson Elementary School and Luther H. Foster High School in Nottoway County, VA. She spent some time living in New York and while she liked the money, she was robbed of her wallet and returned home soon after that (lol).
Laura worked at Verizon for forty years, from which she retired. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. While she loved her daughter, sister and three grandchildren unconditionally, those five great grandchildren gave her a special kind of joy. She enjoyed bingo and arts and crafts. Laura attended Union Baptist Church faithfully until her health declined.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one uncle, P.C. Robertson; one great nephew, Antowan Edmonds and one cousin (brother) Wayne Lipscomb.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Pamela D. Robertson; three grandchildren, Shaneise, Jamal and Avante' Hawkes of Crewe, VA; five great grandchildren, LaTrice Fitzgerald, Jay’Shawn Blanton, K’Mar Blanton, A’Zyia Fuller and JahDae' Hawkes of Crewe, VA; one sister, Mildred LaVern Meredith of Crewe, V; four aunts, Shirley Fowlkes, Thelma Randolph, Beulah Towns and Natalie Robertson; one niece, Angela Meredith-Edmonds (Richard Edmonds) ; one great nephew, Tre’Von Edmonds of Crewe, VA; and a host of close friends and family.
