Obituary for LaShawn Unique Thompkins
La’Shawn Unique Thompkins was called home to be one of God’s angels on December 17, 2020, while surrounded by her family. She was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 9, 2011 to Shawn and Dominique Thompkins.

LaLa attended Union Branch Baptist Church where she participated in the youth choir, Sunday School and various church programs. She attended Amelia County Elementary School from Headstart through second grade. While in Amelia, she participated in Parks and Rec basketball and cheerleading, Girl Scout Troop #1178 and Joy’s School of Dance. She was currently in the fourth grade at Blackstone Primary School. She was also in an after-school program, the Boys and Girls Club.

Her passion was riding horses which she came to love through her Poppie John. She enjoyed taking pictures, Tik Tok, reading, skateboarding and having fun with her brother SJ and her many cousins. She always greeted everyone pleasantly with a warm smile and was very inquisitive and would ask many questions until she figured out an answer. Lala loved a challenge. She enjoyed being creative with arts and crafts and her recent Christmas project is left for her GiGi to cherish.
