Obituary for Larry E. Johnson
Larry Eugene Johnson entered into eternal rest on January 1, 2009 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1958 to Elsie Mae Johnson and Earl Johnson, Sr. Both parents preceded him in death. A brother, James Edward Johnson also preceded him in death.
He joined Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. Larry attended and graduated from Nottoway Senior High School in June 1976.
Larry served his country in the United States Air Force from September 1977 until June 1992. While in the Air force he was assigned to Andrews AFB, Maryland, which is home of Air Force One. He was a Law Enforcement Officer that provided protection for President Ronald Reagan and President Herbert Walker Bush. After being honorably discharged from the military, he worked for a government contracted security company named OMNIPLEX World Services from 1993 until 2007. He worked on security contracts with such agencies as Secret Services, CIA and Federal Air Marshall Service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Larry Johnson, Jr., Kyler Lewis-Johnson and Alexander Sigler; one granddaughter, McMenzie Lewis-Johnson; one brother, Earl (Frances) Johnson, Jr. of Kinder, LA; two sisters, Louise (David) and Hattie Johnson both of Blackstone, VA; one very dedicated uncle, Fred Robertson of Mannboro, VA; two aunts, Lettie Epes and Deloris Puryear of Blackstone, VA; one niece, Vernetta J. Jennings (James of Blackstone, VA; two great nephews, Tramaine and Antonio Jennings of Blackstone, VA; one great niece, Tia Jennings of Blackstone, VA; one very dedicated and loving cousin, Jean Pouncey of Colonial Heights, VA; two devoted friends, Edward Jackson and Shelia Williams; his devoted companion, Audreynette Williams; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 1:00 P.M. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
