Obituary for Lance O'Brian Stith

Lance O’brian Stith was born on March 3, 1988 to Benjamin Stith, III and Lora Bassfield of Crewe, VA. Lance departed this life suddenly on December 17, 2024 at the age of 36. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and a member of Union Baptist Church. Lance graduated from Nottoway County Public Schools.

Lance was married on March 27, 2009 to Latoya Nance and from this union two children were born, Mariah Stith and Lance Stith, Jr. Lance is the father of triplets, Liam Gough, Lincoln Gough, and Ma’lelia Gough. Lance was a devoted son, father, brother, grandson, nephew, brother ‘n law, cousin and friend. He loved his family and always wanted to provide food and drinks for his family. Whenever his God Parents (Ronald and Gwendolyn Jennings) would come home from New York, he would always meet them at his Aunt Shirley’s house. Lance’s passions included hunting, taking care of dogs, raising and running dogs. He worked as a caretaker at Clay’s Nursing Home in Blackstone, VA, as a custodian in Nottoway Public Schools, and he worked with a moving company in Richmond, VA.

Lance leaves to mourn his father, Benjamin Stith, III (Carrie); mother, Lora Bassfield (Warren); his children Mariah Stith, Lance Stith, Jr, Liam Gough, Lincoln Gough, and Ma’lelia Gough; his sisters Loren Neal (Jamel, Sr.), Alicia Stith, and Lakaia Stith; his grandparents Benjamin Stith, Jr., James Rowe, Sr. and Paul Epps; his grandmothers preceded him in death, Julia Lee Stith and Mary Ann Rowe; 1 nephew, Jamel Neal, Jr.; 3 aunts Paula Anderson (Haywood), Tashema Johnson (Harold), and Angela Delaney (Steve); 2 uncles, Alonzo Bowler, Sr. and James Rowe, Jr.; a hosts of aunts, great aunts, great uncles and cousins. He had one special friend, Latasha Shaw. He loved her children as his own, Kaylie Carpenter and Kayden Carpenter.

Lance loved people and had a host of friends that were dear to him and that he made many memories with. He grew up with his best friend, Ronald Oliver, Jr.

Lance was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be truly missed!
