Kim Michelle Dagner was born on July 17, 1973, to the late Joseph Jackson and Maggie Dagner in Crewe, Virginia.
A Time to Plant
Kim was educated in the Nottoway County Public School System and graduated in 1990. She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant License through Amelia/Nottoway Vo-Tech. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jibril Utsey; three aunts; Laura, Jacqueline, and Carolyn Dagner; one devoted cousin/sister, Carolyn Vaughan.
A Time to Embrace
At an early age she began her Christian walk at Cellar Creek Baptist Church.
A Time to Build
Kim was blessed with five beautiful children Da’Quan, DeMarcus, Da’Sha, DeDric, and DyeSha, Kim loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, cooking, and listening to music. Kim greeted everyone with her infectious smile. Kim had a gift of caring for others which led to her employment at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. She devoted her time caring for others by babysitting, and providing private duty nursing services.
A Time to Mourn
It was Sunday morning, January 7, 2024, when Kim quietly and peacefully answered God’s call to come home with family by her side at St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia.

Kim leaves to celebrate and thank God for two devoted and loving sons, Da’Quan Dagner of Florida; DeMarcus Dagner of Blackstone, Virginia; three devoted and loving daughters, Da’Sha Dagner of Richmond, Virginia; DeDric Dagner of Glenn Allen, Virginia; DyeSha Dagner of Blackstone, Virginia; devoted mother, Maggie Dagner of Blackstone, Virginia; two grandchildren, Eva Dagner of Blackstone, Virginia; Hasier Hawkes of Blackstone, Virginia; one brother, Kendrick Dagner of Blackstone, Virginia; uncles, Robert Dagner Jr. of Blackstone, Virginia; Franklin Dagner of St. Louis, Missouri; aunts, Shirley Jackson of Amelia, Virginia; Margie Brooks of Chesterfield, Virginia; one great-uncle, Gussie Dagner, Sr. of Blackstone, Virginia; two devoted cousins/sisters, Keisha Jones of Blackstone, Virginia; Wilma Jean Hardy of Amelia, Virginia; a dear friend, Marvin Threatt of Amelia, Virginia; a host of, cousins and friends.
