Obituary for Kenneth W. Hanks
KENNETH WAYNE HANKS, born to the late James and Mary Hanks on March 17, 1963 in Blackstone, VA. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Moses. Ken loved the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul.
At an early age, Ken accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Blackstone, VA. He later moved to Richmond, VA where he became a faithful member of Grayland Baptist Church.
Kenneth graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, NY on June 19, 1981. His career interest was computer technology. Kenneth once owned and operated Hank’s Office Equipment & Repair Service in Blackstone, VA. He has certificates from Xerox, Smith Corona, Private Industry Council and Swintec Corp. He worked for a tobacco company, Hyperdon, Johnson Office Product in Richmond, VA and Arcadia Restaurant Co.
He married Antonya Lizetta Scott on March 17, 2007.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Lizette; his children, Markeith Scott, Kenneth Wayne Jr. (KJ), Isaiah, Anika and Kendra; sisters, Evelyn, Arlene (Lewis), Marilyn (Elwood) and Nel (Ronnie); aunts, Ann Robinson and Gwendolyn (Clifford); uncles, Oscar (Sylvia) and Carl; two great aunts, Carrie Epes and Grace Epes; mother-in-law, Lucille Lindsey of Mount Vernon, NY; sisters-in-law, Tangela, Lawandra, Latonya and Chiro; brothers-in-law, Steven, Dandridge, James, Lindsey, Rodney, Stacy, and Robert Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Close friends, George Sid Mitchell, Clint Howard, Jimmy, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Johnson, and a host of co-workers, Kelley, James and Frances.
As the sun was rising on May 20, 2012, God sent His angel and carried Kenneth on to his heavenly home.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
