Obituary for Kenneth R. Hurt
On December 17, 2015, Kenneth R. Hurt slept his final sleep into eternity to be with the Lord at Johnston Willis hospital in Richmond, VA. He was born August 3, 1958 to Mary W. Hurt and the late Cammie Hurt.
Kenneth attended Nottoway County public schools and later received his GED on February 7, 1983. He was baptized at an early age and joined the Levi Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. During his growing up within the church, Kenneth sang solos while his father played the piano. They went to many churches and he was always called upon to sing a song. Two of his favorite hymns were “God Is Real” and “God Is Still On The Throne”.
Kenneth was a very good truck driver, in which he worked many years; a job he loved doing. His last employment was with Abeline Motor Express Trucking company for numerous years, where he took pride in his job.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his faithful and loving mother, Mary W. Hurt; his fiancé Lora Barbour, her four loving children, Jermal (Anita) Megan, Alexis, Taron and seven grandchildren, Donarin, Zarion, Jermal Jr., Kalani, Teyona, Danye and Aniya; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
