On this blessed day, February 8, 1965, Kelvin Roy Streety was born to Bennie and Rosemary Streety in Jennings, LA. His parents preceded him in death.
A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps…….Proverbs 16:9
Kelvin joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mermentau, LA and was baptized under the leadership of the late W. Pitre. He later moved to Blackstone and joined Shiloh Baptist Church. He was educated in the Acadiana School system in Louisiana and later graduated from Nottoway High School in 1983. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and traveled throughout the world. He retired in 2003 and made his home in Colorado Springs, CO until his death.

On March 28, 2008 God called Kelvin home into eternal rest.
These things I command you, that ye love one another…...John 15:17
Kelvin leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Kay (James) Blount of Blackstone, VA; three aunts, Catherine (Earl) Hill of San Antonia, TX, Deloris Hartman and Geraldine (Andrew) Miles of Montgomery, AL; one uncle, Thomas (Maxine) Streety of Montgomery, AL; two nieces, Shakara S. and Sharvae’ N. Blount of Blakstone, VA; a daughter he adopted in his heart, Sophia Arnold; two devoted friends, Maurice Grimes and Robert “Rob” Massie of Colorado Springs, CO; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone, with interment will full military honors at Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
