Obituary for Keith D Hicks
On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, our hearts were broken and spirits crushed as our beloved, loving son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Keith D. Hicks, Jr., affectionately known as Lil Keith, Hicks, The Picture Man, Lil Belly, Lil Boosie, Shugga, Cuz, and Breaka received his wings into eternal life.
Keith D. Hicks, Jr. was born to the late Deacon Keith L. Hicks, Sr. and Brenda L. Hicks on July 17, 1982.
Keith accepted his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone, VA. Keith loved fellowshipping within his community and being raised in the church, his personal relationship was evidence in his walk.
Keith was a graduate of Nottoway High School, Crewe, VA Class of 2001.
Lil Keith was employed with several companies over the years, Brickland Company, Blackstone, VA as a Chick Hatcher and Godwin Electrical Services, Mechanicsville, VA as an Electrician Helper. He was multi-talented with different gifts and examples of his father, Mr. Keisy. His gifts taught him to be an entrepreneur in detailing cars, power washing houses and Photographer, He was employed with his oldest sister, Spring (Elite Catering) as a cook and server. Lil Keith was a hardworking, dependable, and reliable young man. He was known throughout the community, family, friends, and strangers for his heart. He never met a stranger; he would talk to everyone and help wherever he was needed. He loved to dance and celebrate his life with family and friends.
Every good and perfect gift comes from above, on December 29, 2009, God blessed Lil Keith with the gift of his daughter, Keiasha Hicks. He had a selfless pride of raising her from an infant and loved being her daddy and father. She was truly the apple of his eye and life. Lil Keith knew the importance of family; his parents instilled it by example. He continued the legacy of his heavenly and earthly father’s teaching every day.
Lil Keith was the best son a mother could have, her ride and die partner. Lil Keith was the best brother, a sister could ever have, best uncle to always be there, best friend a person would never forget.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Keith L. Hicks, Sr., Grandparents Landus & Daisy Hicks, Alberta Henderson & Harvey Smith, Uncles Richard Henderson, Landus Hicks, Jr., Aunt, Charlene Henderson, Brother-in-law Thurman Oliver, Sr., Cousins, Michael Henderson, Antonyo Henderson, Deshane Henderson and Reco Hester.
