Obituary for Kathie Price Tucker
Mrs. Kathie Price Tucker, daughter of Freddie Lee and the late Evelyn Price Montgomery was born September 27, 1956. She was the oldest of nineteen children, four of whom preceded her in death (2 sisters and two brothers).
Kathie received a call from God and accepted her wings on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 3:15 p.m. at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond, VA.
At an early age Kathie was baptized and joined the Yielding Zion Baptist Church. She was educated in the Nottoway County Public School System.
Kathie babysat for many years, and later worked at Hardees in Blackstone until her health began to fail.
To know Kathie, also called ‘Kat’ and ‘Catbird’, was to love her and if she touched your life, you had a friend for life. She was a loving, humorous Mother, God-Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and an outrageous friend.
Even in the midst of her pain and all she endured, she continued to make others laugh. Kathie use to tell us, why are yall looking crazy, I’m good and I’m not dying, I’m still here so don’t start all that crying around me. Her pain and suffering are no more, only eternal rest.
Kathie leaves to mourn her passing: three sons, Randolph, Antonio and Dwayne; one daughter Chiquita; one goddaughter Bridgette Allen; thirteen grandchildren, Keyshawn, Javon, Marquis, Keonna, Dwayne, Keon, Renalyia, Kamora, Brandon, Raquan, Kyeon, Taquan and Tyxzavion; three great grandchildren, Takiye, Dwayne Jr. and Caleah; nine sisters Yvette, Darlene, Deborah, Marilyn, Inez, Dorene, Amy, Laura and Cookie; five brothers, Raymond, James Jr., Christopher, Melvin and Alvin; one great aunt Gracie; five aunts, Constance, Mae, Alice, Winnie and Bessie; one very devoted friend Yvette Marshall; two special cousins, Karon and Cierre; a host of nieces, Nephews and cousins.
