Julia Marie Harris,
daughter of the late Sallie and Walter Johnson, Sr., was born September 27, 1936 in Nottoway County, Virginia. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
Julia confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. She was educated in the Nottoway County Schools.
Julia was a very loving and giving person, always putting others before herself. She was a mother of many and mostly known for her cooking, especially sweet potato pie, buttermilk pie and her famous potato salad.
Julia was married to Richard H. Harris, Sr., to this union seven children were born:Â Patricia D. McMillion (she preceded her in death), Richard, Michael, Maxie, Ricky, Tilda and LaShawn.
Julia is preceded in death by her siblings, Ollie May Tomonia, Racheal Blackwell, Martha Ann Johnson and Dudley Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory:Â her husband, Richard H. Harris, Sr.; her children, Richard H. Harris, Jr., Michael T. Harris (Mary), Maxie L. Harris (Bernice), Ricky W. Harris (Arletta), Tilda Lewis, LaShawn A. Blackwell (Gus), Beverley, Carol and Brenda Robertson; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one brother Walter L. Johnson, Jr. (Brenda); two sisters Corine Harris and Emma Ann Johnson; son-in-law Charlie McMillion; devoted friend, Clarence Robertson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Â
