Obituary for Juanita T Perkinson

Juanita’s smile would greet you every time she saw you. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She loved hard on her siblings whom preceded her in death. She married the love of her life Bernard with that union they were blessed with a son, whom she named Bernard but call him, “Mister”. He and his wife Brittany were blessed to have four beautiful boys, whom Juanita loved unconditionally.

Juanita was a giver and lover at heart, she was the true embodiment of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”. She joined Little Bethel Baptist Church at an early age, she ushered until her health failed her. Her faith was strong in the lord and she loved her family fiercely.

Juanita was employee at Amelia Star Child Dress company for many years and then gain employment at Nottoway Correctional facility, retired after 25 years of services.

Juanita passed away peacefully in her sleep in the afternoon surrounded by loved ones on May 18, 2023.

Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Walter (Boosie) E. Thompson, brothers, Walter (Rome) J. Thompson, and Ernest (Dick) L. Thompson, sister, Melesia A. Wilkerson. Juanita leaves behind to treasure her memory her husband Bernard (Fox), her mother, Lois (William) Mondrey. One son, Bernard-Mister (Brittany) Perkinson, grand-children, Taylor, Brayden, Warren & Kolten. Sister-in-loves, Gloria Thompson, Velma Thompson, Joyce McGhee Perkinson, Francis Perkinson and Sandra Perkinson. Brother-in-loves, Alvin Wilkerson Wilbert Perkinson, Randolph Perkinson & James Perkinson. Aunts, Ethel Thompkins, Christine Pegram, Jocelyn Thompkins, Valerie Pegram Foster, Rebecca Thompkins, Hattie Thompkins, Luberta Pegram Uncles, Freeman Cornell Randolph, Joe Pegram, Ernest Pegram and Benjamin Thompkins. God-daughter, Kaydee Thompson-Dykes. Many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.

Juanita had some devoted friends whom held a special place in her heart: Avis Otey, Phyllis Alston, Gladys Hardy, Velma Jennings, Gale Lewis, Minister Daisy Foster and Brenda Butler. Her care giver whom loved on her was Bertie Evans.

Viewing Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 12 to 7PM.

Funeral Service Friday, May 26, 2023 at Zion Hill Presbyterian Church, Amelia.  Interment Little Bethel Baptist Church, Amelia.
