Obituary for Joyce Ann Foster
On January 24, 2014, Mrs. Joyce A. Foster was called to eternal rest at her home after a brief illness. Joyce, daughter of the late Silas and Lula Easter, was born on April 4, 1956 in Lunenburg County.
Joyce attended Lunenburg County public schools and graduated for Nottoway High School in 1976. Joyce was a practicing LPN and was employed at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blackstone, VA.
Joyce joined Little Mount Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Mount Gazerine Baptist Church in Blackstone, VA where she was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending regular services. Joyce served as Sponsor of the Junior Choir, Director of the Senior Choir and President of the Deaconess Board.
Joyce leaves to cherish her fond memories:Â a dedicated and devoted husband of thirty-five years, James E. Foster; sons, Michael Easter of Raleigh, NC and Carlton Foster (Amy) of Ashburn, VA; three grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally, Shikirah, Michaela, and Marquell; three brothers, George of Oklahoma City, OK, James (Mary) of Hopewell, VA and Richard (Judy) of Richmond, VA; four sisters, Lula Jones of Victoria, VA, Gracie Beasley of Keysville, VA, Betty Fulgham (Jeffrey) of Hampton, VA and Helen Jefferson (Howard) of Hampton, VA; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Foster of Blackstone, VA; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends, Keisha, Judy, Dawn and Ruth Ann.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Foster will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone with burial in the church cemetery.
