Josephine Montgomery Hill was born May 25, 1953 in Nottoway, Virginia to Thelma and Burnett Williams. She departed her life on August 24, 2024 at her home in Crewe, Virginia surrounded by her family.
Josephine attended Nottoway County Schools. She worked at Best Factory until she retired.
Josephine was an active member at Union Branch Baptist Church in Jetersville, Virginia. While attending Yielding Zion Baptist Church in Burkeville, Virginia she taught Sunday School.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Burnett Williams; a daughter, Sonya Belle; her siblings, Joseph Montgomery (her twin brother), Norma Williams, Linda Montgomery, Milton Williams, Laverne Montgomery, Deborah Montgomery, Wesley Montgomery and Russell Williams. She is survived by her husband Larry Hill; four children, Joyce Coleman (son-in-law, Melvin), Jermaine Montgomery (daughter-in-law, Casey), Shawn Montgomery (daughter-in-law, Makinya) and Bryan Montgomery; step children; six siblings, James Montgomery, Cora Daniels, Betty Coleman, Burnett Montgomery, Lionel Montgomery and Elsie Epps; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephew, nieces, family and friends.
