Obituary for Josephine L. Scott
Josephine Lorraine Scott, 63 of 105 S. West Ave, Blackstone, VA departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 after a brief illness at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA. On June 14, 1957, she was born to Roosevelt and Alease Wright Scott.
At an early age she was baptized at Bloomfield Baptist Church and gave her life to God. She lived a Christian life and truly loved the Lord. Josephine attended Dinwiddie County public schools and Nottoway County public schools.
Josephine was a dialysis patient for sixteen years and was dearly loved by her Davita Dialysis family. She loved her crossword puzzles, Dallas Cowboys, spending time with her family, and listening to Gospel music.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Alease Wright Scott; a sister, Brenda Scott; and two sons, Andre’ and James Scott. She is survived by two sons, Robert Scott of Dinwiddie, VA and LaTroy Scott (Tamara) of Blackstone, VA; five daughters, Denise Scott (Jasen) of Blackstone, VA, Angela Scott of Petersburg, VA, Gale Scott (Steven) of Blackstone, VA, Latoya Scott (Anthony) of Norfolk, VA and Sharay Scott (Quaman) of Blackstone, VA; one brother, Roosevelt Scott of Mecklenburg County, VA; two sisters, Novia Taylor (Lloyd) of Petersburg, VA and Shirley Blackwell (Gus) of Blackstone, VA; one aunt, Claudine Cox of Richmond, VA; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a devoted cousin Katie of Richmond, VA; niece, Takia; nephews, Deon and Mark; and a host of other family and friends that loved her dearly.
