Obituary for Joseph L. Johnson, Jr.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Johnston-Willis Hospital in the early afternoon, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called to his final resting place.
Joeboy was born to the late Joseph Sr. and Helen C. Johnson in Jetersville, Virginia on June 7, 1943. He was educated in Nottoway County Schools. At an early age he was baptized and joined Good Hope Baptist Church. He was the owner of Johnson Logging. Joeboy had a passion for playing and watching baseball; the saxophone and was an avid lover of drag racing and even built a race car with his sons.
He was preceded in death by son, Timothy Johnson, father, Joseph Johnson, Sr., son Joseph Johnson, III, and mother, Helen Johnson.
He leaves cherished memories to his wife of 40 years, Pansy B. Johnson; children Lawrence Harris (Jessica); Wanda Johnson, Kendel Johnson (Rhonda), Teresa McCrae, and Orlando Johnson (Kandi). Grandchildren LaToya, Shayla, Shakeira, Kendell, Dominique, Chelsea, Wayne, Kiara, Ciara, Amaira, Kendrick, Myles, Kendreyeus, and Olivia and 10 great grandchildren. Brother James G. Johnson, Sister, Helen J. Holmes (William), Brother Harold L. Johnson (Juiette), and Sister Sandria D. Johnson. Aunt, Gertrude Jefferson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Monday, February 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, Jetersville. Interment church cemetery.
