Obituary for Joseph J. Staten, Jr.
Joseph J. Staten, Jr. was born March 20, 1942 in Henderson, NC to Linnie Peoples and Julius Hicks. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

He attended school in Henderson, NC. Joseph was a member of Commandment Apostolic Worship Center. Joe was employed at Velvet Textile for a number of years.

Joseph loved fishing. “Broadway Joe” as he was called, loved to sing and dance, He always wore his hat crooked. Joe was well known and respected in Taylor Bottom and the West End.

He is survived by his wife Angela Staten; a son in North Carolina; two step-daughters, Letisia and Alaetra; sister-in-law, Minister Janet (Charles) Wilson; brothers-in-law, Edward (Rebecca) Pritchett and James Pritchett; a number of grandchildren; Thomas Jones III (Trey) closest to his heart; other relatives and friends.

Services Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment private.
