Obituary for Joseph C. Wilson, Jr.
Joseph Clinton Wilson, Jr., son of Joseph Sr. and Minnie Wilson was born July 17, 1954 in Blackstone, VA. He entered eternal rest at VCU Community Memorial Hospital on March 13, 2020. Joseph was affectionately called “Juny” by family.
“Juny” attended KREST Day Support every week where he participated in activities that support his social and developmental needs. Each morning he was filled with excitement and anticipation in regards to attending KREST. He especially enjoyed being cared for by Sandra Jones, a training specialist at the facility.
His mother Minnie, in addition to providing care for “Juny”, also gave him an abundance of unconditional love up until her own health began to decline as well as his, at which time he became a resident at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.
“Juny” was preceded in death by father, Joseph Wilson, Sr.; his maternal grandfather, William Stokes; his maternal grandmother, Rebecca Lee and his brother, Michael L. Wilson. He leaves behind his mother, Minnie; sisters, Janice Shaw of Victoria, VA, Barbara Brown (Anthony Sr.), Angelene Wilson, Teresa Wilson, Mary Alice Booker (Charles Sr.) and Shelia Jones (Robert Sr.) all of Blackstone; two brothers, Kenneth and Kendal Wilson of Blackstone, VA; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone. Interment Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
