Obituary for Joseph "Bub" Hawkes
JOSEPH “BUB” HAWKES entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2012 at Community Memorial Health Center, South Hill, Virginia. He was born on December 6, 1940 to the late John Joseph and Channie Worsham Hawkes. Joseph joined the Cedar Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Amelia County Public Schools. He moved to Blackstone and worked for Taylor-Ramsey Furniture Company until he retired. He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Pamela Hawkes of Richmond, VA, one sister, Josephine Sterns (Ralph) of Henrico, VA.; four brothers, Carl (Shirley) , Clinton (Mable) of Blackstone, VA, Jesse (Gladys) and Raymond (Veda) of Richmond, VA; one uncle, Hugo Worsham and two aunts, Velma Hawkes and Louise Worsham; one brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law; eight nieces, ten nephews; many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the Church Cemetery.W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.
